PREVALENCE AND FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH INADEQUATE PAIN RELIEF IN PEOPLE WITH HIP OR KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS: A CROSS-SECTIONAL POPULATION BASED STUDY

Purpose: Hip or Knee Osteoarthritis (HKOA) is a leading cause of disability worldwide and pain the most common symptom for seeking health care due to its interference on daily living activities, social occupational participation. Although, internationally, literature suggests that outcomes current interventions are suboptimal in control people with OA, great proportion OA lives Inadequate Pain Relief (IPR). In order comprehensively understand healthcare offered Portuguese population this study aims to: 1) analyze prevalence IPR among knee hip patients, 2) characterize HKOA according sociodemographic, clinical lifestyle variables, factors associated IPR; 3) compare HOOS/KOOS, anxiety depression symptoms treatment strategies patients adequate relief (APR).
